Diabetes is a metabolic disease that causes high blood sugar. Your body either doesn't make enough insulin or can not effectively use the insulin. Some signs that children have diabetes are increased thirst, frequent urination, and extreme hunger. If you see any of those early symptoms you should contact your pediatrician.



HOW CAN YOU PREVENT IT?


Some basic tips to prevent diabetes are:

  • Drink more water

  • Avoid sugary drinks

  • Eat more fruits and vegetables

  • Eat healthily

  • Maintain your weight (obese children have higher chances of developing diabetes)

  • Exercise regularly ( It is strongly advised young children do any kind of sports activity and be active all the time)
