To lose fat and weight you need to burn a lot of calories. Cardio will help you with that but it is not the best solution.

For your body to start burning fat you need at least 30 min of cardio activity, after that, your body is slowly starting to burn fat.

If you compare it with weightlifting it is much more inefficient.

Why?

Because of the time your body takes to burn those fats!
